Fortune smiles on one lucky SPAR shopper in Pretoria
14 June 2014 is a date that SPAR shopper Tersia Canelissen will never forget. It was on this day that Tersia was presented with the keys to a brand new 2014 Limited Edition Vivo Blue Line 1.4 55kw 5 Door Volkswagen Polo from management of SUPERSPAR in Queenswood, Pretoria.
Winning was something that may have crossed Tersia’s mind, but, like so many other entrants in the SPAR Win-a-Car promotion, she may have felt only mildly confident and hopeful at best.
However, the fact that her husband encouraged her to enter perhaps triggered fate for Tersia and placed her firmly on the path to good luck and a shining new flash red Volkswagen Polo, valued at R127 391.59.
After all, there was little doubt that the national competition which ran across all brands within the retailer’s franchise, including SPAR, SUPERSPAR & KWIKSPAR stores, from 22 April to 8 June 2014, would generate a huge response.

The prize is truly a limited edition and exclusive to SPAR. It comes with 15” Charade alloy wheels, lowered suspension, lower rolling resistance tyres, rear tailgate spoiler and a Blue Line Badge.
An ecstatic Tersia thanked everyone at QUEENSWOOD SUPERSPAR and smiled as she expressed her gratitude explaining how she has already given the new addition to her family the name ‘strepie’ because of the unique stripe which adorns the new Polo.
“Interestingly enough the car I have used until now is also a Volkswagen and also red, but a really old one, which I called ‘Suzie’. I can now replace Suzie with Strepie,” she beamed.
Queenswood SUPERSPAR owner Aki Angelides and manager Ricardo da Silva handed Tersia the new keys to her car and offered her the congratulations of everyone involved with SPAR and the competition.
