Mondays with Martina
I don’t know about you but I can only start a diet on a Monday.
It being Monday today, I have been on a hectic very low calorie diet for a week now since last Monday and survived my 1st weekend- feeling very chuffed this morning when I weighed myself and lost 600grams over the weekend.
Chris the Chef de Patron and my hubby are not happy with my yo – yo dieting and keep telling me I need to follow a healthy diet and change my lifestyle, rather than going on these crazy quick loss diets. I just cannot have 1 piece of a chocolate bar – I either have nothing, or the whole bar.
Well at the age of 50, I simply can’t. I am an all or nothing girl. I am very good when I am good and very bad when I am bad: of course with reference to my eating habits…
To put you in the picture, 2 years ago I lost 12kg. What a wonderful feeling to buy a pair of size 10 jeans. You would think that I would then stick to a healthy diet and keep it off. 2 years later I am back where I was with the kg’s slowly creeping up on me over a 24 month period.
I am now determined to have lost the 12kg by the end of winter 2014 and I know I am crazy to start dieting over the Easter period. I just did not want to have gained another kg or so in April.
I will be reflecting about why I can’t maintain a healthy life style and one important issue is time management. I often get home with no good/healthy food in the fridge. We then either go and eat at our local restaurants or I end eating all the unhealthy cheese and biscuits kind of food because I am starving. The last week I made it a priority to stock up on good healthy food – hence my weight loss over the weekend.
Please feel welcome to share your thoughts and tips with me – I will keep you posted about my progress.
