From cleaner to customer relationship manager – Aida proves the value of Hands On Treatment

Dedication, discipline, hard work and a chance. This was all that Aida Masisi needed to work herself up from being a cleaner at Johannesburg-based wellness company Hands on Treatment to her current position as Customer Relationship Manager.

Hands on Treatment is an established wellness company with several tiers of service including professional mobile massages from trained therapists, an events management silo focused on the corporate space, and a fully equipped restaurant that supports all wellness activities.

Aida joined the company in 2003. Being part of a progressive, empowered and forward-thinking business gave Aida the opportunity to be trained in various positions, including serving as a beauty therapist, administration assistant and helping out in the Hands on Retreat division’s restaurant.

This dynamic entrepreneur and ‘go-getter’ mother to a daughter of 17 also looks after her two brothers and her own mother.

Whether it is prepping the restaurant for business, seeing to the guests, helping with admin or assisting therapists, Aida is someone who understands the business and has grown as an individual and as an employee.

Her success in gaining invaluable management level experience and exposure to several areas of business management will only stand her in good stead in the market.

But, Aida has confirmed that she is very happy and has no intention of leaving the business that she has helped develop for over a decade.

“I am delighted to be here and very happy with my work and my contribution to this dynamic company. It truly is a business of people for people by people,” Aida smiles.

Martina Laurie, Chartered Accountant and CEO of Hands On Treatment says the Company was launched in part to provide a wellness service that added significant value to customers, but also to empower people who may not necessarily have sufficient skills or experience.

“We are very proud of Aida, not only because of the outstanding work she does and her commitment to our business – but also because of her determination to succeed through hard work and a genuine desire to learn as much as possible. Hands on Treatment is about wellness, but it is also about people striving to move out of their circumstances and grab any opportunity with both hands!” says Laurie.

Hands On Treatment is convinced Aida story will serve to inspire others who may not necessarily know what they want or how to get there, but have a sense of determination and work ethic to be given that one chance to make all the difference.
